First week of Coffee!

jThis is our friend Israel and He is the best cook ever! totaly seeking after the Lord.

My friend Talia shes so awesome and joyful!!!
 Zoe!!!
This passed week, was the first week of the Coffee shop being opened. We had so many people come through, and had a cool talk with a lot of them. There was this one boy that is Islamic and he has been here everyday just hanging out, and we got to talk to him and this morning we got to go through the book of John and we each got a story from a chapter. We had to tell the story, who Jesus says He is, and what does He do. It was awesome I got chapter 4 of John. It talks about the woman at the well and Jesus says I am the living water, and if you drink of the water I give you, you will never thirst again. He says He's the messiah too. It was so cool because the boy was asking questions about Jesus and we all got to answer them for him. The girl Heather I was talking about before, She came back the next day and hangout all day and we got to pray for her and she was crying!!!! and happens her little sister is a Christian and she has been praying for her too. So awesome how God works!!!.. But Last night these two people from Chiagco were here and the girl needed a computer so I offered mine and we were just talking and getting to know each other and we were all cracking some jokes, but afterwards she came up to me and said, "You guys are the nicest girls I've ever met so loving!!.. I love you guys", "This coffee shop is just what Utila needs." Than after that our friend David he's a christian and it was his birthday and I made him a cake, first cake i have ever made by my self, but it was soooo good!!! haha

"Modeling"

A about a month ago we were at "Deep blue dive center"  and me, Whitney, and Warren were all sitting on the couch. This lady walks up, asks us if we want some brownies and we were like "Yes!!!" then I was asking where she got her cute pants and shirt from and she went on saying how she makes all her clothes and that she's having a fashion show and how she needs help, back stage or even models. Me and Whitney looked at each other, said We will be models!!.. then Sivla said okay meeting is next week about the fashion show. We did all the fittings, then we had the "run-through" the week before the fashion show and Sivla was saying how she is so thankful to have us in her fashion show and how she loves us and we are so classy when we walk, and how were never late. That whole next week before the fashion show she kept coming over and bringing us banana bread and all sorts of bake goods. It was really cool how God chose me, Whitney, Alex, and Arielle to be in the show, how we could be set apart in that whole crowd, and how God showed up and He was shinning through us. We were talking afterwards to some people and they said "You guys were the classiest models up there" Like they knew something was different about us. It's so awesome to think that we were modeling, and how we are here on Utila "Modeling" Christianity, how we walk around, how we talk,  how we love one another, and people are watching just how we were "modeling" in the fashion show. 1 Thessalonians 2 talks about how Paul and his team were "modeling" Christian behavior. Modeling you don't have to say anything your just walking by example, same thing with being a Christian sometimes you don't have to be hanging out with people to be an example. But when I was walking down the runway, The Lord really gave me a heart to walk classy and just to be myself and He also gave me a heart for everyone that was there and in the fashion show.

8/2/11

Today was August 2, second day in to the coffee shop!! The Lord brought in a lot of people it was awesome and got to know some more people. Me and Whitney went to a lot of the dive shops and passed out 10% off cards to the dive masters and they were all so excited and we got to tell them about what rio coco is all about.. This girl named Heather came and stayed all day, drank coffee, and SUPED. I got to talk to her a little bit and just get to know her, then this evening there was dolpins in the bay so me and Arielle went out on the SUP board and went over about 5 of them, so awesome!!!! Then I met a gill named Steph and she was from Australia, she just came from Hawaii 4 days ago and she went to Maui and went on the Trilogy and I worked for the Trilogy so cool!!! and she surfs, I was telling her about Rio Coco and how were Christians and she was all excited. Before I came on this trip, I was praying for a girl that I could have a concoction with and really click with and was a one and one relationship with. I feel like I met her so just be praying that we can hangout a lot before I leave because I only have 2 weeks left. Tonight me and Alex went out to dinner and Heather was there and I got to tell her about Jesus and I think a seed was for sure planted it was cool!!!...

First day of RIO COCO

The coffee shop has opened, we've had 11 people so far, it's so awesome how God gave us the strength to finish it in a month! The Lord is attracting people to the coffee shop, it's supposed to be a place where people can come and feel at home and feel like there loved. Thats exactly what people are saying to me!!! its sooo awesome. The team we have works so well together, everyone that is on the team has such a good attitude and they just trusted in the Lord and we have all become like family. We have been building relationships with everyone around us, my relationship with God has grown so much I feel closer to Him everyday. This past week I went stand up paddling with Moselle, Tom, and this girl named Baya, I had a cool conversation with Baya about what were doing and she was saying how she feels like she just needs to go somewhere on this island where she can feel at home. I said thats what Rio coco is all about, then we went on talking about what I believe and just getting to know each other. After we were done paddling I said come over anytime you want and get some coffee, tea, or just come hangout and she said "Thank you Tehani" and her face was glowing and I could tell she felt loved but she didn't know what it was from. Who evers reading this, please pray that I would get another opportunity to talk to Baya and tell her about Jesus!!!
